Big Buddha ‘Postman’
Ever seen that Secret deodorant commercial? “Strong enough for a man, PH balanced for a woman.” That’s how I feel about this Big Buddha Postman messengar bag. This bag is definitely rustic, big, and “manly’ enough for guy to use and not look out of place..and at the same time perfectly sized and shaped for us ladies to carry around and look great in. Big Buddha scored one for both sides with this bag. I love the distressed “i’ve been around the world and still look fabulous” look. Cram all your books, magazines, laptop, ’snail’ mail, and just about everything else into the Postman.

Saturday Sale! Luba J ‘Sofie’
Whenever I look at Luba J bags, I have to say the two Lithuanian/Ukranian models turned designers Juljia and Luba definitely have their own point of view that I love. When I stumbled across this Luba J bag on sale the ‘Sofie,’ I still think the same. Love the colors available, especially this raspberry red and the rounded shape of the bag. The seams are placed perfectly for style and function. Plus, I really like her take on the turnlock also, using the overlap strap and rectangular metal ring. Haven’t see that before. The bag is roomy too and give you the option of using the zip closure, just the overlap strap or both to close up the bag. Options are also great.
Their bags recognizable to those in the know, and not so mainstream yet that you will feel like #144,235,367 to carry their bags. Go be an early adaptor and pick up this Luba J Sofie on sale, or any of their other bags.

Monsac Angelina Satchel
Whereas yesterday I showed you how to do inexpensive Chic with the Roxy Gracie, today I want to show you simplified quality in this Monsac ‘Angelina’ satchel. There isn’t a lot of adornment to this bag, but yet it still looks simple (in a good way) and clean (which I always love). The Angelina has smooth leather and die-cut leather that lead up to the handles. I love how the triangular folding at the top works to compliment the shape of the bag. And BTW, Monsac leather, great quality, so even though the leather isn’t pleated or played with - it doesn’t matter because just by looking at the leather you can tell that the Angelina is a good bag. Trust me on this, I’ve had a Monsac for over year, looks as good today as when I first bought it, and that’s saying a lot because my bags tend to go through a lot of abuse - they have to be sturdy and good lookin.

Roxy Gracie
Proof that you don’t always have to spend a lot of money for a great bag. The Roxy Gracie Satchel is a cheap bag, without being a cheap bag, if you know what I mean. At only $36, the Gracie satchel is a steal. No Joke. The key to buying quality bags that still look fashionable despite not being of 100% leather or high-end with brand name on it - structure. The bag can’t be overdone and at the same time, it also can’t be without adornment or embellishment. If the bag is too plain, it could look too plastic or cheap (in a bad way), and if it has too much going on..it’ll just look gaudy, and again..cheap.
The Roxy Gracie does has just the right amount of gathering going on. Plus with the slightly distressed metallic material and flattering, no one would be able to tell you only paid $36 for it. Oh and btw, the Gracie is completely eco-friendly, made of animal-friendly PVC. You can’t go wrong with the Roxy Gracie, looks great and is easy on the wallet.

Steven ‘Hollywood’ Hobo
With his Steven line, Steve Madden has made this Steven ‘Hollywood’ hobo so that it is good enough to carry around in Hollywood. So, as you stroll the 90210 or walk around the Hollywood Hills pretending to shop for houses. (Yes, I’ve done that before..but be sure to dress the part). Gathered throughout with ruching on the side I love how it the Hollywood avoids looking sloppy by taming down all the folds with the middle pleated strap that uses magnetic closure to keep things safe and secure. One slight forewarning, the lining is animal print, not my fav, but maybe yours.

Kate Spade ‘Tarrytown Lizzie’
Kate Spade, the queen of simplicity and structure has done it again with the Kate Spade ‘Tarrytown Lizzie’ tote. I love this color (though it also comes in other wonderful colors as well) because it reminds me of the upcoming winter season - snowflakes and clear crisp skies - but is also a color that will be lovely in the spring and summer as well. For the fall, I’d say hold off on bringing out this bag in dreary rainy weather..it would just clash. A detail that I really like with the Tarrytown Lizzie is something that Kate Spade has been trending towards, which is the foldover closure in lieu of an obvious zipper that slides conveniently under the Kate Spade trademark leather slit. Oh and by-the-way, I love the lining inside the divided interior. The Kate Spade logo grey print is a perfect compilment. I’m glad Kate didn’t put animal print on the inside like she did with another bag that I loved on the outside but couldn’t stand on the inside. Even with bags, beauty isn’t skin deep

Roxy ‘Valentine’ Tote
Here’s a fabulous Roxy bag made of polyester and nylon that I am really diggin. This Roxy Valentine Tote is soft and quilted with a subtle blue, white and brown pattern to perfectly accent the main diesel color the bag. The Valentine will also allow you to tromp through the fall and winter showers without having to worry about things getting wet (thanks to the poly/nylon combo and magentic closure). Plus I really like that the bottom is made of a sturdy plastic that’s easy to clean and allows you to be worry free when setting it down. Great for all ages.

BIG BUDDHA Kirsten Satchel
Crosshatching on a deep purple was definitely a good choice that Big Buddha made when designing this Kirsten Satchel. I like it because it’s a detailed, well-sized bag that’s very understated. I especially like the cushy braided handle that’ll be soft on your shoulders. So if you’re one of those people who likes to stick with one color but doesn’t want to be a ..’yawn’.. go for this Big Buddha Kirsten satchel. It’s roomy and got some funk to it.

Kidrobot ‘Slinger’ Crossbody Bag
Never let anyone tell you that you’re too old for cartoons. I’m well past the Saturday morning cartoon target market, but you know what..psh I don’t care and I still want to watch Madagascar Escape 2 Africa. So anyway, with that, I found this great bag on sale at the Nordstrom Half-Yearly Sale. The Kidrobot ‘Slinger’ bag. It’s a fun bag with personality and great contrasting colors. You can get this in black, tan, and a rhodedenran type of color with great accent colors. Check it out, it’s young and fun loving without being juvenile.
