Smart Shopping: Purchase Multi-Use Bags
Tip #4: Purchase Multi-Use Bags: True, wouldn’t it be lovely to buy a load of different bags for every occasion and not have to worry about how much they cost or how impractical they might be? Well..in this day and age, I don’t know about you, but I certainly can’t do that. That’s why I suggest buying bags that you can use for more than one type of occasion. I’m sure many of you already do this, but I just want to emphasize the point.
Here are all the ways I use my Large Longchamp Le Pliage tote (and the few Baggu’s I always store inside if I run out of space)
- So..when I stroll out from the office around the corner to Safeway I can put groceries both in the Le Pliage and in the reuseable grocery bags inside.
- If I need to carry an extra pair of clothes/shoes I can fit them in there
- Can be used as a lunch bag and book bag and laptop bag (I’ve sewn a soft and slightly cushy fabric sleeve for the laptop to keep it safe and secure though)
- Perfect carry-on bag to double up with a backpack or roll-on.
So, I hope you take the suggestion and do the same. Check out some other bags that are perfect mulit-use bags: Longchamp Le Pliage, Chinese Laundry Embroidered Tote, LeSportsac Travel Tote, Big Buddha Postman,

Chinese Laundry Embroidered Tote
Saw this Chinese Laundry Embroidered tote bag and fell in love with it at first glance. First, like I promised my next few posts would be, this bag is under $100 at a lovely price of $59. The grey with yellow embroidery is a perfect way to end the winter and bring in the spring. Why, you ask? Grey goes with tons of bright spring colors like blue, pink, purple and orange. Plus, if you’re stuck the Pacific Northwest, you’ll also still have your share of rainy cloudy days mixed in with the clear crisp ones…a muted grey toned bag will match the environment nicely.

A-Lister Celebrities Wear Bargains
I had to share this video I found on Yahoo! (click on thumbnail picture above or link below) which epitomizes how I feel about style and what I practice myself. As long as it fits right/looks good - then it doesn’t matter how much it costs, $5 or $500 (well…that upper limit is totally up to your discretion ;)) I’ve probably gotten just as many compliments on my dirt cheap sale bags/clothes as I have for all the ones that I’ve been like “ugh..I love it, but can I afford it?” about. If anything I’m more willing to buy fun/risky/edgy things when they are bargains, because I know if I end up regretting it - so what? It was only a few $ rather than $$$$.
e.g. I match a pricey BCBG knit dress (that I actually removed the sleeves from), with a pair of pleather slouchy boots I picked up in Munich for <$50, with a Target jacket I got for around $30, all finished off with my lovely brown Longchamp Le Pliage tote. If you wear it well and are confident, no one will care or be able to tell.

Wallet Wednesday: Chinese Laundry ‘Ruffle’ Clutch
Wallet Wednesday has been revived (at least for this week). For the girly girls out there, I’m gonna recommend this pleated out Chinese Laundry ‘Ruffle’ clutch. I love ruffles (both the chips and these on the Ruffle clutch). This Chinese Laundry clutch is aptly named and super cute. Chinese Laundry has found that perfect balance by only having ruffles on one side of the clutch and vertically layering these ruffles (which kind of look like pleats to me..to be perfectly honest). Anyway, uber cute, sleek and stylish, fun and flirty - all very accurate ways to describe the Chinese Laundry Ruffle Clutch. Plus, an under $50 clutch that looks this good, you almost can’t afford not to buy this great find. Oh and btw, it comes in Navy as well if pink is not your favorite.
