Except for a few conservative companies (like the ones you’ve been seeing in the news lately, uh hum..AIG, WaMu), the transition in dress code from business professional to (fashionable) casual has definitely happened. With that, the work tote has also transitioned.  I still love the classic and sleek briefcase or tote, but on a practical side, I need something that will travel well with my laptop whether I be on the streets of San Francisco, S-Bahn of Munich, on the plane, or just driving to work.

With that I present to you my favorite work tote - Matt & Nat Streamline Paltrow Tote.  I stumbled across Matt & Nat at a boutique and fell immediately in love with their bags a few years ago. You can carry the Paltrow by the short handles or across your body using the adjustable should strap. AND, not only does this particular  work tote look great, hold all your stuff in it’s organized pockets (laptop to chapstick and everything inbetween) but its completely eco-friendly and animal free.  A great way to go green as you take the bus to work.  If you don’t like this eggplant color, the Paltrow is available in the more traditional black or brown.  It’s still durable and practical but it would compliment anything from a suit (when you have to be “serious”) to the “other: office uniform -  jeans and a graphic tee.
