OGIO ‘Mastermind’
I know..the OGIO Mastermind might not be the trendiest backpack to sport around, but I have this laptop bag and was just thinking fondly upon it. When I leave for Boston this weekend, there’s no other backpack that I’d rather bring with me. It has enough room to fit a 17″ screen laptop, all its power cords plus more. The Mastermind is also super comfortable to carry around and padded in all the right places so you won’t get tired of carrying it around. There are a ton of pockets to fit business documents in and that extra pair of emergency clothes that’s needed whenever you are traveling out of town. Trust me on that one…I was stuck in the Dulles (Washington D.C airport) overnight when my flight out to London was delayed, that extra pair was definitely a Godsend at that point. Anyway, so yep, if you travel frequently for work on > 2 or 3 days at a time and shoulder bags tend to hurt your back, I would definitely recommend the OGIO Mastermind. Plus..in black, and this ever evolving world of “casual business” - it’ll pass as professional.

Keen Irvington
Another great bag under $100 is the Keen ‘Irvington.’ I’d say this messenger type bag is perfect for most, but especially for the mom on the go. It has a crossbody strap so that hands and arms remain free (with an option to hold it by the short cut-out handles as well). There’s plenty of space to hold diapers, snacks, the a change of clothes for baby and an extra shirt for mom. Plus, if need be, another purse can be slung over your shoulder for smaller items the busy mom would rather not have her child dig into. The fabric is a sturdy polyester with a rubber bottom to help keep it clean. There are plenty of colors available that you can choose for your friend as well..mommy or not.

Big Buddha ‘Postman’
Ever seen that Secret deodorant commercial? “Strong enough for a man, PH balanced for a woman.” That’s how I feel about this Big Buddha Postman messengar bag. This bag is definitely rustic, big, and “manly’ enough for guy to use and not look out of place..and at the same time perfectly sized and shaped for us ladies to carry around and look great in. Big Buddha scored one for both sides with this bag. I love the distressed “i’ve been around the world and still look fabulous” look. Cram all your books, magazines, laptop, ’snail’ mail, and just about everything else into the Postman.

Roxy ‘Valentine’ Tote
Here’s a fabulous Roxy bag made of polyester and nylon that I am really diggin. This Roxy Valentine Tote is soft and quilted with a subtle blue, white and brown pattern to perfectly accent the main diesel color the bag. The Valentine will also allow you to tromp through the fall and winter showers without having to worry about things getting wet (thanks to the poly/nylon combo and magentic closure). Plus I really like that the bottom is made of a sturdy plastic that’s easy to clean and allows you to be worry free when setting it down. Great for all ages.

Kidrobot ‘Slinger’ Crossbody Bag
Never let anyone tell you that you’re too old for cartoons. I’m well past the Saturday morning cartoon target market, but you know what..psh I don’t care and I still want to watch Madagascar Escape 2 Africa. So anyway, with that, I found this great bag on sale at the Nordstrom Half-Yearly Sale. The Kidrobot ‘Slinger’ bag. It’s a fun bag with personality and great contrasting colors. You can get this in black, tan, and a rhodedenran type of color with great accent colors. Check it out, it’s young and fun loving without being juvenile.

Longchamp ‘Le Pliage Large’ Tote
Yay! for the strengthening dollar!! As I browsed around Heathrow today on my way to Munich, I was much more willing to shop since the now it’s $1.53 to 1 GBP. Much better than that ghastly $2 to 1 GBP like it was in May when I was here. With that, I couldn’t resist myself and bought another Longchamp Le Pliage tote. This time the larger shopper. =) And guess, what it was cheaper at the airport in British Pounds than it is in the US!!
So, here you go the lovely Longchamp Le Pliage large tote. Perfect for travel and work and school and everyday, just like the smaller tote (that I promptly folded up and stored in my new bag, along with the long looked for Chole perfume I bought duty free and my Harrods peekabo teddy bear =). The great thing is that this larger tote also folds up to a perfect storage size in your bag.

Saltbox ‘Sea Turtle Chainlink’ Tote
No longer are kids sportin’ the Jansport backpack with its lifetime guarantee. Now I’m seeing girls from the pre-teen to grad student using the canvas tote. I’m guessing this isn’t the best thing for the backs, but they’re young and want to be a bit hip. At less than $50 a pop, Saltbox’s totes (this one and others) are a steal and my favorite ‘new’ school bag. It’s 20% off today only at ebags.com. The funky pattern of the fabric and unorthodox realistic print of the Sea Turtle will definitely make you stand out and will help any student make a statement (in a good way). And if this isn’t the exact pattern you want, it comes in other colors and graphics to choose from. This tote will carry a laptop and some textbooks and any other necessary items. Plus the internal zip pocket will keep the small loose items like keys, cellphone and chapstick secure.
