Latico Vyntage Coinkeeper Buckle Tote

Here’s a lovely number that will bring you into spring.  The Latico Vyntage Coinkeeper Buckle tote at the very attractive price of $79.  It’s got a timeless look to it with it’s smooth lines and leather.  And roomy enough to carry what you need in the paisley lined cavity.  I especially like how in lieu of using a flap closer, Latico has opted for a deep zipper on both ends to that it’s easy to retrieve things from within.

SR Squared Sondra Roberts Mermaid hobo

Example of applying Tip 3 from my previous post: this SR Squared Sondra Roberts Mermaid hobo.  This is a trendy bag, that I like.  It says flapper girl and mermaid at the same time to me.  The dark colors keep it from looking tacky and I think it’s an all around fun bag to spice up a look.  Plus at $45, it’s at the perfect price range.

Smart Shopping - Tips and Hints

We’re in a recession, there’s not way to sugar coat it.  And with that, although I still have a good job, I find myself being a bit more conscious of how I spend or save my money.  Over the next several posts I’ll reveal some of my smart shopping tips and hints.  And with that, my first tip:

Tip 1: Just like a diet, I don’t deprive myself totally, otherwise a must more costly ($$$) binge is more likely to occur.  So instead, I look for deals when I go shopping and to make my spending count for more.

So here’s a deal for ya’ll. The Jessica Simpson Tempest Hobo.  Stylish and well priced.  A great purchase if you’re looking for a bag that will match a lot of things in anyone’s wardrobe, while being different from the usual black or brown.

Francesco Biasia Moody

Francesco Biasia is a great designer and this Moody satchel is a great bag. WIth the cut-out handle and the straps you can also carry this bag however you’d like.  A nice combo with the interlocking metal rings.  The Moody has deep eggplant accents along its piping and the straps. You can barely tell that it’s there and is one of those things where you might look at it a couple times from afar not realizing that it’s that subtle detailing that draws your eye to the bag.  It’s kind of like the fb metal branding as well.  Unless you look at it closely you can’t tell the FB for Francesco Biasia is on the bag and it’s not just some cool abstract hardware detail. I love the unassuming details that are always added to his bags, and I think you will too - especially because it’s about $160 off on sale.

Sale Saturday! Dutchy CB Basket

This Dutchy CB Basket handbag has already been under $100, and so always been a steal.  But now the CB Basket is on sale for $70, that’s downright wonderful.  Yeah, so what, it’s not leather - it still looks good and is great for you vegetarian shoppers. ;)  Anyway, if you want something with a bit more subtle detailing, I’m going to suggest the CB Basket. I like the little button nubs that adorn this bag.  And the paisley type print lining is darn cute.  Oh and btw, it comes with an eco-friendly shopping bag too.  Oh dang, two for the price of one!

Marc by Marc Jacobs Jelly Jacquard Lil Riz Tote

March by Marc Jacobs ‘Jelly Jacquard Lil Riz Tote,’ my first thought whew..that’s a lot of name, and “Lil Riz” ..sounds gangsta. Well, I think the Marc Lil Riz is well named.  The bag is a bit unconvential and different with the short strap for a big bag.  I don’t mind though, because even if I can’t carry it crossbody, the Lil Riz allows me to snugly fit it on my shoulder or fashionably carry it in my hand without having to bother with multiple staps or dragging it on the ground.  Plus, I love this color, it reminds me of the snow outside that I can see now from my bedroom window.  And..if you didn’t guess from the name “jelly,” the majority of the bag is made from plastic - perfect for durability and easy clean. Marc by Marc Jacobs has a whole line of these Jelly Jacquard bags, and I love them all.

Hayden Harnett Lorca Turnlock

I wasn’t lying when I said that I have been made a fan of Hayden Harnett bags.  And since being in New England, I’m liking them even more as I saw them in all the handbag boutiques I wandered into.  Shouldn’t be surprised though, it is an East Coast brand. Here’s another Hayden Harnett bag, the Lorca Turnlock.  There’s not much to no like about this bag, the color and fabric are fabulous and rich, the well placed studs add just the right touch of edge, the turnlock is easy to use and all the rage, and the size is..perfect.  If you feel like you have too many oversized satchel or tiny clutches - this midsized Lorca Turnlock will be a match made in heaven for you. Oh and another great thing, the Hayden Harnett Lorca Turnlock is on sale! What more could you ask for?

A-Lister Celebrities Wear Bargains

The Thread, Celeb Bargain Hunters @ Yahoo! Video

I had to share this video I found on Yahoo! (click on thumbnail picture above or link below) which epitomizes how I feel about style and what I practice myself. As long as it fits right/looks good - then it doesn’t matter how much it costs, $5 or $500 (well…that upper limit is totally up to your discretion ;)) I’ve probably gotten just as many compliments on my dirt cheap sale bags/clothes as I have for all the ones that I’ve been like “ugh..I love it, but can I afford it?” about.  If anything I’m more willing to buy fun/risky/edgy things when they are bargains, because I know if I end up regretting it - so what? It was only a few $ rather than $$$$. ;)

e.g. I match a pricey BCBG knit dress (that I actually removed the sleeves from), with a pair of pleather slouchy boots I picked up in Munich for <$50, with a Target jacket I got for around $30, all finished off with my lovely brown Longchamp Le Pliage tote. If you wear it well and are confident, no one will care or be able to tell.

A-Listers Wear Bargains : it’s a quick video clip showing off Eva Longoria wearing Old Navy, Blake Lively in BB Dakota, and others in H&M.

Saturday Sale! Luba J ‘Sofie’

Whenever I look at Luba J bags, I have to say the two Lithuanian/Ukranian models turned designers Juljia and Luba definitely have their own point of view that I love.  When I stumbled across this Luba J bag on sale the ‘Sofie,’ I still think the same.  Love the colors available, especially this raspberry red and the rounded shape of the bag.   The seams are placed perfectly for style and function.  Plus, I really like her take on the turnlock also, using the overlap strap and rectangular metal ring.  Haven’t see that before. The bag is roomy too and give you the option of using the zip closure, just the overlap strap or both to close up the bag.   Options are also great. ;) Their bags recognizable to those in the know, and not so mainstream yet that you will feel like #144,235,367 to carry their bags. Go be an early adaptor and pick up this Luba J Sofie on sale, or any of their other bags.
